Colors of 2020: Green

The color of 2020 is Green. This year we are bringing the outside inside. Shades of green are pairing lovely with gray tones or brown tones. Depending on your own personal style. Green can make a beautiful tile backsplash or be a whole room. The possibilities are endless.  

Beach Beauty

One of the hottest trends in 2019 is the beach beauty! It’s all about the bright feel. Bringing nature inside with organic textures. This can be accomplished by using beachy tones like driftwood grays and sandy blonde. 

Cleaning Your Kitchen Backsplash

Kitchen backsplashes come in all different shapes, sizes and colors. They are often the focal point of a kitchen, so you want to make sure it stays clean. If you have a tough stain that you need to get rid of try washing soda. Not baking soda. Washing soda contains sodium carbonate that will help remove any unwanted stains. Mix half cup of washing soda with warm water. Make sure to protect your hands and eyes. Let the mixture sit on the tile for five minutes before wiping it off. Make sure you are careful with the type of tile you have, try a small corner before you use it on the full backsplash. Make sure you keep in mind some tile such as natural stone are sensitive to scrubbing. If you have a glass backsplash try putting white vinegar in a spray bottle. This can be sprayed directly to the stain. While planning your backsplash keep in mind ceramic, metal and porcelain are easier to clean than other materials.

Wood baseboards are the most popular baseboards. Most flooring comes with trim to match your floor. Wood can make any home look high-end.

Crowning in Hardwood Floors

Crowning is when the center of the board is higher than the edges. Crowning can happen when the surface encounters too must moisture or is left in wet conditions for an extended period. The moisture can be pulled from the air or the subfloor. Running a dehumidifier can help remove the moisture.
