Mapei Kerabond T is a premium-grade, nonsag, nonslump mortar for thin-set and large-and-heavy-tile applications in interior and exterior residential and commercial floors and walls. It's specifically engineered for today's oversized format tiles — the slabs, planks, and heavy stone that standard thin-sets struggle with.
Kerabond T is the dry-set component of the Kerabond T / Keralastic System — a high-performance two-part system where Keralastic, a second-generation flexible acrylic latex additive, is used in place of water to deliver exceptional bond strength, flexural strength, elongation, and freeze/thaw durability. When mixed with Keralastic instead of water, it meets demanding large-format and exterior installation requirements.
The nonsag, nonslump formula holds tile firmly in place during installation on both floors and walls without sliding or slipping — critical for large-format tile on vertical surfaces. Available in gray and white; use white under light-colored stone and translucent materials.

What's the difference between Kerabond T and standard Kerabond? Kerabond T is formulated for large-and-heavy-tile (formerly called medium-bed) applications — it's thicker and stronger, designed for oversized slabs and heavy stone. Standard Kerabond is a straight dry-set mortar for typical tile sizes.
Do I need to use Keralastic, or can I mix with water? You can mix with water for standard installations, but Keralastic is required when installing over plywood, setting nonvitreous tiles, or any application where added flexibility and bond strength are needed. The Kerabond T / Keralastic System also achieves higher ANSI performance classifications.
Can it be used on walls? Yes — the nonsag, nonslump formula is specifically designed to hold large-format tile on vertical surfaces without slipping during installation.
Is it suitable for exterior use? Yes, for most exterior floor and wall applications. Protect from rain and frost for 7 days after installation.
What tile types can it be used with? Ceramic, porcelain, quarry tile, pavers, Saltillo tile, large-format tile, and most natural stone. Do not use with moisture-sensitive stone (green marble, some limestone and granite), agglomerate tiles, cultured marble, or resin-backed tiles.
Which color should I buy — gray or white? Use white when installing light-colored stone, translucent marble, or light-bodied tile where gray mortar could show through. Gray works for most other tile types.
How long before the floor can be used? Protect from foot traffic for 24 hours. Keep away from rain and frost for 7 days.
Does it meet industry standards? Yes — meets ANSI A118.4 (polymer-modified mortar) and ISO 13007 C2 classifications when mixed with Keralastic.
