Mapei Mapesil T Plus is a professional-grade, 100%-silicone sealant with enhanced adhesion for use on multiple substrates, specifically formulated for heavy-traffic and expansion/movement joints, exceeding both ASTM and ANSI standards. It's the right caulk for change-of-plane joints, perimeter seals, and anywhere tile meets a different surface — tub ledges, shower corners, countertop edges, floor-to-wall transitions, and more. 

Color-matched to Mapei's grout palette and formulated to a low sheen to match the gloss of grout joints, so the caulk joint blends cleanly with the grouted field. Excellent elongation and flexibility for change-of-plane and joint applications in tile and stone, rated for interior and exterior use from Res 1 to Res 7 and Com 1 to Com 7 per TCNA Environmental Exposure Classifications. 

Compatible with pools and spas — requires 7 days of curing time before filling. Pool water must maintain a pH between 6.5 and 7.6 with free chlorine under 5 ppm. Mold and mildew resistant. Adheres to ceramic tile, porcelain, natural stone, glass, masonry, concrete, brick, wood, aluminum, fiberglass, vinyl, plastic, and properly prepared copper and brass.

Where should I use Mapesil T Plus instead of grout? Anywhere two planes meet or movement is expected — shower corners, floor-to-wall transitions, tub ledges, countertop perimeters, and expansion joints. Grout cracks in these locations; silicone flexes.

Is it color-matched to Mapei grout? Yes — available in colors matched to Mapei's grout palette. Expect a slight color variation due to the difference in material composition between silicone and cement-based grout.

Can I use it in a pool or spa? Yes. Allow 7 days of curing before filling. Pool water must maintain pH 6.5–7.6 with free chlorine under 5 ppm for chlorine resistance to hold.

What surfaces does it bond to? Ceramic tile, porcelain, natural stone, glass, masonry, concrete, brick, wood, aluminum, fiberglass, vinyl, plastic, and properly prepared copper and brass.

Will it stain natural stone? It can. Always test in an inconspicuous area before applying to porous natural stone.

How much movement can it handle? Up to 25% joint movement for all colors. Clear handles up to 50% movement.

Can I use it for structural glazing? No — not rated for structural glazing applications.
