Mapei UltraCare Grout Refresh is the straightforward fix for grout that's stained, discolored, or just worn out. Instead of regrout or replacement, this water-based colorant and sealer restores the look of existing grout joints — or lets you change the color entirely — in a single application.

It's a nonflammable, ready-to-use, polymer-modified formula that bonds to cement, epoxy, urethane, and acrylic grouts, so it works across virtually any existing tile installation. Each 8 oz. bottle covers up to 300 square feet and comes with a cone-shaped applicator tip that directs product straight to the grout joint — no special tools needed. 

The formula sets deep within grout lines to create uniform color and seal out future stains. Once cured, it protects against moisture and common household staining agents. Traffic-ready in 2 hours; water-resistant in 24 hours. 

Available in 40 colors to match standard grout lines or refresh with something new. Suitable for interior and exterior use on sanded and unsanded grout in kitchens, bathrooms, showers, and any tiled surface.

Does Grout Refresh work on already-sealed grout? The grout surface needs to be clean and free of existing sealers or coatings for proper adhesion. Strip any existing sealer before application.

Can I use it to change my grout color, or just restore it? Both. Grout Refresh can restore the original look or shift to a new color entirely — as long as you choose from the 40 available shades.

Does it work on epoxy grout? Yes. It bonds to cement, epoxy, urethane, and acrylic grouts.

How much does one 8 oz. bottle cover? Up to 300 square feet, depending on grout joint width and tile size.

How long before I can use the area? Keep foot traffic off for 2 hours. Avoid water contact for 24 hours.

Can I use this in a shower? Yes, for both floor and wall tile. Make sure the surface is fully dry before applying.

Do I need special tools? No. The bottle has a built-in applicator tip. A toothbrush or nylon brush to work it into the joint and a damp sponge to wipe the tile face is all you need.
