Mapei Granirapid White Rapid-Set Flexible Tile Mortar, 46 lb

Granirapid is a two-component, rapid-curing flexible mortar system built for fast-track tile jobs where you can't wait days for standard mortar to dry. It develops high early strength and handles the same demanding applications as standard flexible mortars — but cures fast enough to keep a project on schedule.

Mapei's High-Hydrated Cement Technology (HCT) gives Granirapid superior drying characteristics, so there's low residual moisture behind the tile after just 24 hours, without contributing to efflorescence. Works with a wide range of tile types, including porcelain and glass, and resists moisture and staining — a solid fit for kitchens, bathrooms, and other wet or high-traffic areas.

Comes as a two-part system: powder mixed with Mapei's liquid latex additive (sold separately). Paired with Ultracolor Plus FA grout, the finished install can handle water submersion in as little as 72 hours.

Does this come with the liquid component?
No — Granirapid is a two-part system. The 46 lb white powder is mixed with Mapei's Granirapid liquid latex additive, sold separately.

How is this different from standard flexible mortar?
It cures much faster. Low residual moisture behind the tile after 24 hours instead of the days a standard mortar needs, without causing efflorescence.

Can I use it with glass tile?
Yes, generally — but some glass tile backings aren't compatible. Check the tile manufacturer's recommendations and TCNA guidelines first.

How long can I work with it once mixed?
30 minutes pot life. Don't mix more than you can install in that window.

 

Complete the system: add Granirapid Liquid Latex Additive (2 gal) to activate this mortar. Mix ratio: 46 lb. powder to 2 gals. liquid.
