Mapei Novoplan 2 Plus
Mapei Novoplan 2 Plus Professional Self-Leveling Underlayment — 50 lb.
Mapei Novoplan 2 Plus is a high-strength, self-leveling, cement-based underlayment and repair mix for interior concrete and engineer-approved floors. It's the go-to SLU for flattening out-of-plane subfloors, smoothing rough concrete, and repairing damaged floor surfaces before installing any type of floor covering.
It's suitable for leveling, smoothing, and repairing interior residential and commercial floors before the installation of flooring systems or floor coverings, and can also be used over radiant-heated floors or to encapsulate hydronic or electric radiant-heated floors. Highly compatible with floor-covering adhesives — no interference with glue-down LVP, sheet vinyl, VCT, or carpet installations.
One 50 lb. bag covers approximately 6 to 25 sq. ft. depending on pour thickness. Mix with water, pour, and spread — it self-levels to a flat, smooth surface. Ready for tile in 24 hours; full cure in 2 to 3 days. Zero VOC. Requires Primer T over nonporous substrates before application.
Meets compression and flatness requirements of ASTM F710 and ASTM F2873 for resilient flooring installation.

What is Novoplan 2 Plus used for? Leveling, smoothing, and repairing interior floors before installing any floor covering — tile, stone, LVP, sheet vinyl, VCT, carpet, or engineered hardwood. Also used to encapsulate radiant heat systems.
Do I need to prime first? Yes. Primer T is required over nonporous substrates like ceramic tile, VCT, and epoxy moisture barriers. Over porous concrete, dilute Primer T with water before applying. Never pour SLU over an unprimed nonporous surface.
How thick can I pour it? Between 1/4" and 1-1/2" per lift. For deeper fills, pour in multiple lifts once the previous layer has cured.
How much does one bag cover? One 50 lb. bag covers approximately 6 to 25 sq. ft. depending on pour thickness. Thinner pours yield more coverage; deeper fills cover less area per bag.
Can I install tile right after it cures? Tile and stone can go down 24 hours after application. Other floor coverings — carpet, vinyl, LVP — require 1 to 3 days depending on pour thickness and conditions.
Is it compatible with radiant heat floors? Yes — approved for use over and to encapsulate both hydronic and electric radiant-heated floor systems.
Can it be used outdoors? No — interior use only.
What ASTM standards does it meet? Meets the compression and flatness requirements of ASTM F710 and ASTM F2873 for resilient flooring installation.
