Mapei Ultrabond ECO 20 Standard Flooring Adhesive
Ultrabond ECO 20 is Mapei's value-oriented standard flooring adhesive, built to deliver solid performance without a premium price tag. Its formulation provides ample working time for installing felt-backed vinyl sheet flooring, smooth-backed carpet, and rough-backed carpet.
Suitable for residential and light commercial applications. Certified CDPH Standard Method v1.2-2017 and SCS Global Services Indoor Advantage Gold, and Red List Free for Living Building Challenge projects.
Don't apply over existing adhesive residue, including cutback adhesive. Don't install when moisture vapor emission rate (MVER) exceeds 5 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. per 24 hours (ASTM F1869 calcium chloride test), or when relative humidity exceeds acceptable levels for the flooring being installed.

Can this be used for solid hardwood or engineered wood flooring? No — Ultrabond ECO 20 is formulated for felt-backed vinyl sheet flooring, smooth-backed carpet, and rough-backed carpet, not wood flooring. For wood, check the Ultrabond ECO wood-flooring line (ECO 980, 985, 995, etc.).
Is this suitable for commercial jobs? It's rated for residential and light commercial use — for heavier commercial demands, a premium-grade adhesive may be a better fit.
What if my concrete subfloor has moisture concerns? Test first — don't install if the moisture vapor emission rate exceeds 5 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. per 24 hours using the calcium chloride test method.
Does it meet green building standards? Yes — it's Red List Free and certified under CDPH Standard Method v1.2-2017 with SCS Indoor Advantage Gold.
