Ultrabond ECO 985 is Mapei's premium single-component, hybrid-polymer wood flooring adhesive — bonding, moisture control, and sound reduction in one product. Formulated without water, solvents, amines, isocyanates, phthalate plasticizers, or epoxy resins, with an extremely low VOC emission level.

Excellent sound-reduction properties, meeting the standards required for multi-unit housing. Protects wood flooring from moisture vapor emitting through concrete slabs in a single application, so there's no separate moisture-barrier step. Durable bond strength for exotic and domestic wood species, and can also be used with ceramic tile and stone for mixed-media installations alongside wood flooring.

100%-solids formulation, moisture-cured, no solvent added. Meets SCAQMD Rule #1168 for Adhesives and Sealants.

How is this different from ECO 995? ECO 985 is hybrid-polymer based; ECO 995 is urethane based. Both handle bonding, moisture control, and sound reduction in one coat — check the technical data sheet for coverage and substrate specifics to confirm the right fit for your job.

Can I install solid hardwood below grade with this? No — don't use this adhesive to install solid hardwood or bamboo flooring below grade.

Does it work with tile in the same install? Yes — approved for mixed-media installations combining wood flooring with ceramic tile and stone.

Is it suitable for apartment or condo installs? Yes — its sound-reduction properties meet the standards typically required for multi-unit housing.
