Mapei Ultracolor Plus FA is an ultra-premium, fast-setting grout engineered to replace both sanded and unsanded grout in a single formula. Fine aggregate (FA) construction handles joint widths from 1/16" to 3/4", delivers consistent color, and resists shrinkage and efflorescence. DropEffect technology reduces surface absorption, helping repel water, dirt, and grime from penetrating grout joints. MAPEI's High-Hydrated Cement Technology (HCT) increases polymer content and stain resistance compared to standard cement grouts. No sealer required.

Works for: Ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, quarry, glass, brick paver, and natural stone (including slate and granite) tile — suitable for interior and exterior, residential and commercial applications. Can be used for swimming pools, spas, and water features after a 72-hour cure time before water exposure.

When should I choose the 10 lb. over the 25 lb.? The 10 lb. is the right size for backsplashes, repairs, accent walls, and smaller single-room tile projects. If you're doing a full floor or multi-room job, the 25 lb. bag is the better value.

Does it replace both sanded and unsanded grout? Yes. The fine aggregate formula works for joint widths from 1/16" to 3/4", so you don't need two separate products for one job.

Does it need to be sealed? No. DropEffect technology and the high polymer content make it stain-resistant without sealing.

How soon can the area be used after grouting? Light foot traffic in 3 to 4 hours under normal conditions.

Can it be used in a shower or pool? Yes — rated for wet areas including showers, steam rooms, pools, spas, and water features, both interior and exterior.

Is it color-consistent bag to bag? Yes. HCT technology is specifically designed to eliminate the color variation common in standard Portland-cement grouts.

Does it work on natural stone? Yes — compatible with dimensional stone, slate, granite, stone agglomerates, porcelain, ceramic, glass, quarry tile, and brick pavers.
