Tile Collection Cottage Cotto 3x6 Field Tile Matte
Tile and stone products are fragile, and it is normal to have some broken pieces during transit. You may receive up to 5% broken pieces. Please figure this potential breakage into your waste calculation.
Tile Collection Cottage Cotto 3x6 Field Tile Matte
Cottage Cotto from Tile Collection is a small-format porcelain tile made to look like old handmade terracotta. The color is a warm, baked-clay red-orange with soft, aged shading, and the edges are slightly irregular so it reads as handcrafted rather than factory-perfect. It's made in Spain.
Underneath the rustic look is glazed porcelain, so it holds up much better than real terracotta. It absorbs very little water, doesn't need the heavy sealing that clay tile does, and is rated frost resistant. Use it on floors and walls in kitchens, baths, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and backsplashes.
The 3x6 size (actual 2.76" x 5.51") works for running bond, stacked, herringbone, and basketweave layouts. Pair it with Cottage Cotto Hexa from the same collection to mix shapes in matching color.
Install notes: this tile has V3 moderate shade variation, and shades are mixed randomly in each box. Pull from several boxes while you lay it out so the color spreads evenly. Edges are pressed, not rectified, so plan on a slightly wider grout joint than you'd use with a rectified tile. Standard porcelain methods and TCNA guidelines apply.

Is Cottage Cotto real terracotta?
No. It's glazed porcelain made to look like aged terracotta. You get the warm clay look without the porosity and upkeep of real clay tile.
Can I use it on a kitchen floor?
Yes. It's rated for floors and walls, and the matte finish has a DCOF of at least 0.42, the standard for level interior floors that get wet.
Why do the tiles in one box look different from each other?
That's on purpose. The shades vary by design and are mixed randomly in each box. Blend tiles from several boxes during installation so no single shade clusters in one spot.
How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 5.27 Sq. Ft. Measure your space, add 10–15% for cuts and waste (more for herringbone), and divide by 5.27.
Does it come in other colors or shapes?
Yes. The Cottage collection comes in Cotto, Sand, Grey, Graphite, and White, in this 3x6 brick shape and a larger hexagon.
